How do I book my child a place at Sun Rise and/or Sun Set Club?
Children must be registered and booked to attend Sun Rise Club and Sun Set Club via Arbor. Please refer to the guidance attached under 'Resources' for further information.
Sun Rise Club
This club is available to children, during term time, from 7.45am each morning and provides childcare, a healthy breakfast and activities to children from Reception Class through to Year 6. The club is led by school staff and offers a relaxed and informal setting for the children before they join the rest of their class in time for registration.
The current charge is £5.50 per session per child.
Due to the high demand for places at the club no credits or refunds will be given for non-attendance at the club. Payments for the club will only be waived in exceptional circumstances.
Whilst the aim and offer of our wraparound care is somewhat different to a normal school day at Abbots Green Academy, children who attend Sunrisers/Sunsetters will be expected to behave in the same manner that they would during the rest of the school day – showing respect to adults, each other, and school property. In terms of behaviour, it is important that the children’s zone board position remains during the hours of the school day and is not started during Sunrisers or continues during Sunsetters. Therefore, the wraparound club has its own behaviour system - please see Appendix 6 of our Positive Behaviour Policy.
Rainbow Room Breakfast Club
In addition to our Sun Rise Club, the school also provides an additional before school club for children within Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our Rainbow Room Breakfast Club is run by Mrs Arfi and Mrs Goodenough and provides selected children additional support with their learning before school and a healthy breakfast. Please note that children are invited to attend this club.
Sun Set Club
This club provides after school childcare and offers two finishing times - 4.30pm or 6.00pm.
The club is led by school staff and provides childcare and a range of activities and games for children at the end of the school day. In good weather children often play outdoors. A healthy snack and a drink is also provided at the club.
The current charge is £5.50 per session per child (until 4.30pm) and £9.50 per session per child (until 6.00pm).
Due to the high demand for places at the club, no credits or refunds will be given for non-attendance at the club. Payments for the club will only be waived in exceptional circumstances.
