Enhancing Learning Through Technology

At Abbots Green Academy, we are proud to be part of Unity Schools Partnership’s &iLearn initiative, bringing technology and learning together to inspire, engage and empower our pupils.

Through this Trust-wide digital strategy, pupils in Years 4 to 6 will benefit from access to their own 1:1 iPad, with Year 5 & 6 being able to utilise these both in school and at home, helping them develop digital skills, deepen their understanding and take greater ownership of their learning.

By combining technology with our carefully designed CUSP curriculum, we aim to create exciting, inclusive learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Families will also be supported to make the most of this technology, strengthening the connection between home and school.

Our ambition is simple: to give every child the tools, confidence and opportunities to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

” The question is no longer whether technology should have a place in the classroom, but how technology can most effectively be integrated in ways which achieve improved outcomes for young people.” – Sir Kevin Collins

Taking Your Child’s iPad Home – Years 5 and 6

If your child is in Year 5 or 6 and you would like them to bring their school iPad home to support their learning, please complete the following steps:

  1. Watch the information video.
  2. Download, read and sign the iPad Home Use Agreement.
  3. Return the signed agreement to your child’s class teacher.

By signing the agreement, you are also confirming that you have watched the information video and understand the expectations and responsibilities associated with your child bringing their iPad home.

Once the signed agreement has been received, your child’s class teacher will arrange for the iPad to be sent home.

Please note: Due to the administration required, your child may not be able to take their iPad home on the same day the signed agreement is returned. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
